Fox ducks Obama health pitch

President Barack Obama will once again take to the primetime airwaves to address the nation, and once again, Fox will be the only Big Four network to take a pass on the event. It was originally scheduled for 9PM eastern, but in the face of the possibility that there would be more network defections, the event was moved up to 8PM. ABC, CBS and NBC will all carry it live. Fox will direct viewers to its sister cable channels.

RBR/TVBR observation: It would probably have been a no-brainer to just go ahead and carry this back when we were kids, when network television had actual “seasons.” All that would have been missed would be reruns and low-grade experimental fare.
