Fox, two-hour 'The X Factor' ties for second-place

FOX ranked #2 for the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and teens.


THE X FACTOR:  3.7/10 – holding up well given the direct music/performance show competition last night (down -8% in the core demo and only down -3% among Adults 18-34).

Last night’s THE X FACTOR built throughout the night and was up +18% in its last half-hour vs. its first among Adults 18-49 (half-hours: 3.4 > 3.7 > 3.9 > 4.0)  

THE X FACTOR was the second highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens behind ABC’s CMA Awards.

Competition
ABC’s presentation of the 2011 CMA Awards posted a 4.8/12 from 8-11pm, up +2% from last year’s telecast (4.7/13 on 11/10/2010).
 
On CBS, Survivor: South Pacific (3.1/9) fell -14% from last week (3.6/10) to match its season low and remains off to the franchise’s worst fall performance ever, down -11% from its previous low through eight telecasts. Criminal Minds (3.4/8, down -8%) and CSI (2.5/7, down -7%) finished the night with season lows at 9pm and 10pm.

At 8p, NBC’s Up All Night (1.8/5) remained flat and matched last week’s season low. Following a repeat Up All Night (1.2/3) at 830p, Harry’s Law posted a 1.3/3 at 9pm, up +18% from last week. Law & Order: SVU (1.9/5, down -5%) closed out the night with its lowest original rating ever, and through seven telecasts is down -19% from its comparable performance last fall (2.1/6 vs. 2.6/7).
