A pair of Fox veterans have just been handed added responsibilities. Bill Shine, who has been involved with the 21st Century Fox-owned outlet since its 1996 launch, will take a greater role in managing programming and network synergies for both outlets, a signal that the two outlets may be tied more closely together than before. Brian Jones, who has managed operations at Fox Business for years, will take an expanded role at the financial-news network.
Roger Ailes, chairman and chief executive of both networks, will continue to run both.
Shine was promoted to senior executive vice president of programming of Fox News Channel. Jones was promoted to executive vice president of news operations and will assume additional day-to-day responsibilities for all Fox Business Network news operations. Shine will continue to report to Ailes, while Jones will report to Shine.
The moves come after the late-July disclosure that Kevin Magee, who had run FBN’s day-to-day operations since before its launch in 2007, would depart the network.
