Fox wins Wed in 18-49

FOXFOX won Wednesday night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. To date, FOX has won every Wednesday night since THE X FACTOR premiered this season.


·         THE X FACTOR: 3.4/9, even with last week’s fast nationals

o    TXF was up from last week’s fast nationals by +1% in Total Viewers (9.4 vs. 9.3 Mil) and +4% in Teens (2.8 vs. 2.7) and was the highest rated program of the night among Teens

o    In addition, last night’s TXF retained 92% of its core demo rating from the comparable episode last fall (Judges’ Homes #1 on 10/13/11, 3.7/10)

o    THE X FACTOR is closing the gap vs, last season – through nine episodes, the season 2 average is now down only -13% from the same 9 episodes last season (3.4/10 vs. 3.9/11)

Competition

ABC’s The Middle (2.4/7) was up +9% from last Wednesday (2.2/7), while new comedy The Neighbors (1.9/5) was flat. Back-to-back originals of Modern Family at 9pm (4.7/13) and 9:30pm (4.9/12) were down -15% and -11%, respectively, from the show’s premiere two weeks ago (5.5/15). At 10pm, new drama Nashville premiered with a 2.8/8, down -15% from Revenge’s series premiere in the time period last year (3.3/9 on 9/21/11). Nashville fell -43% from its lead-in.

On CBS, Survivor: Philippines (2.6/8) matched the series’ lowest original rating ever (excluding specials), down -13% from last Wednesday (3.0/9). Criminal Minds (3.0/8, a Fall low) and CSI (2.6/7) were both in line with their season premieres two weeks ago.

New NBC comedies Animal Practice (1.1/3) and Guys With Kids (1.4/4) both posted their lowest ratings to date, down -15% and -13%, respectively, from last week (1.3/4 and 1.6/5). At 9pm, Law & Order: SVU (1.8/5) delivered its lowest Fall rating ever, down -14% from its premiere two weeks ago (2.1/6). At 10pm, the debut of new drama Chicago Fire (1.9/5) was down -10% from Law & Order: SVU’s average in the Wednesday 10pm time period last fall (2.1/6).
