FOX: X Factor dominates Wednesday

FOXWith night three of THE X FACTOR Season 2, FOX ranked #1 Wednesday night across nearly all key demographics, including Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens. THE X FACTOR was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, out-rating the #2 program, CBS’ Survivor premiere, by +13% (3.5 vs. 3.1) in Adults 18-49.


·         THE X FACTOR: 3.5/10, up +6% in the core demo, up +13% in Adults 18-34 and up +11% in Total Viewers vs. last Wednesday’s fast national rating (Note: It’s likely THE X FACTOR will go up a tenth in the finals).

o    THE X FACTOR was also up +10% in the younger P12-34 demographic versus last week’s fast nationals.

o    Compared to last Thursday’s fast nationals, THE X FACTOR was up +13% among Adults 18-49 and up +12% in Total Viewers.

o    The show grew significantly over the course of the telecast, up +41% in its last half hour vs its first.

Competition

ABC ran repeats of The Middle (1.1/4), Suburgatory (1.0/3), Modern Family (1.6/5), Suburgatory (1.2/3), and Revenge (0.7/2).

On CBS, Survivor: Philippines premiered with a 3.1/10, down -9% from the launch of Survivor: South Pacific last fall (3.4/10 on 9/14/11) and was the show’s lowest-rated Fall premiere ever. At 9:30pm, the season finale of Big Brother 14 posted a 2.5/7, delivering the show’s lowest summer finale rating ever, down -14% from its comparable telecast last year (2.9/8 on 9/14/11).

NBC ran repeats of The Voice (1.7/5), Law & Order: SVU (1.2/3), and Revolution (1.2/4).

  1. Fox in my area should have aired X-Factor instead of threading in intermittent potions of sitcoms during the rain delayed baseball game. I’m sure X-Factor pulls in more viewers than the TV shows. The network made the wrong choice in my opinion. The baseball games could spill into next Tuesdays airing of last night’s episode as well pending the outcome of the games over the next 4 days.
