From Midtown Manhattan to Hollywood, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Netflix are bigger players than ever before. And, they are big spenders on television.

In fact, when combined, the online Goliaths spent a whopping amount on TV — making the category the No. 1 TV ad spender in the U.S.

A new VAB report shows the “GAFAN” group spent $2.6 billion on TV in 2019.

That bests the second-largest TV advertiser, Procter & Gamble Co., by some $450 million in TV ad dollars.

In fact, FAANG’s increasing investment in TV advertising reflects a 26% compound annual growth rate over the last four years.

Additionally, each FAANG brand buys deep with an average of 78 broadcast and cable TV networks spanning a variety of genres and demographic targets to achieve mass scale.
