A veteran broadcast industry engineer who many may recall from his 17 1/2 year tenure at the former Nassau Broadcasting has accepted the role of Intraplex Broadcast Sales Manager, Americas for a company widely known for wireless, over-the-air content delivery solutions.

Tony Gervasi, who served as New Jersey-based Nassau’s SVP/Engineering and Technology from September 1995 through May 2013, will now focus on GatesAir‘s customer initiatives and business development in North and Latin America, with an emphasis on channel management.

Gervasi reports to Steve Paulson, Director of Intraplex Sales at GatesAir.

He’ll be based in Boynton Beach, Fla., located between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach.

Gervasi previously spent three years as USA Sales Manager for 305 Broadcast, a Miami-based broadcasting equipment distributor.

Earlier career stops include WALK-AM & FM in Nassau-Suffolk, N.Y., where he served as Director of Engineering for former owner American Media from October 1992-September 1995.

“As a broadcast engineer who has purchased, implemented and used many Intraplex products over the years, I’m in an excellent position to ask the right questions and help our customers find the best networking solutions for their requirements,” said Gervasi. “Intraplex products have always been renowned for their reliability, but there is a broader set of opportunities that broadcasters can take advantange of with Intraplex as they transition to IP. I will be out in the trenches and working closely with inside sales channels, attending SBE meetings, and talking directly to broadcasters, with a goal of creating more awareness about what is possible with today’s Intraplex product range, from our fixed microwave STL solutions to our IP Link codecs.”

GatesAir Chief Product Officer Rich Redmond added, “Tony’s depth of experience in broadcast engineering will prove invaluable to the continued growth of our Intraplex brand, from addressing the specific pain points that broadcasters face with IP and TDM networking to effective implemententation and use our products,” said  “His expertise offers a high level of credibility while working with our channel partners and end users, which strengthens our ability to capitalize on existing and emerging business opportunities across the Americas.”
