This is worth marking your calendar: CBS Sports’ Verne Lundquist hosts Geico Present Best of College Football 2009 on Friday, Nov. 27 (1:30-2:30 PM, ET). The show will pack all the emotion and drama of the entire regular season into an exciting hour of touchdowns, upsets, spectacular catches and bone-jarring hits.
The one-hour special relives the best moments and performances for the 2009 season with memorable game footage and interviews with top players highlighted by Tim Tebow, Eric Berry and Matt Barkley, and coaches including Pete Carroll, Lane Kiffin, Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer.
The program also will look at Tebow’s legacy as he nears the conclusion of this final season at Florida. And two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin breaks down this year’s Heisman race.
RBR/TVBR observation: Tebow has pro written all over him but the key is Tebow is a humble young man and this is a good character builder in today’s over egoed sports world.
No player in college ball has had more media coverage than Tebow and it has not gone to his head. Tebow needs a little personal coaching before he enters the NFL, be good if he spoke with someone like former Steeler Super Bowl QB Terry Bradshaw and get a few pointers. And speaking of the ‘Steelers’ – well Tebow would look great in a Steeler uniform. (note: what NFL uniform do you think Tebow will where?)
