“Co-chairs Joe Bilotta of Buckley Broadcasting and Tom O’Brien of NBC Universal were inspirational in guiding our efforts through a challenging economic year to a truly successful and well-attended event. The Celebrity Golf Tournament is one of the Foundation’s biggest fundraisers, and we are grateful to our sponsors and supporters,” said Jim Thompson, President of the Broadcasters Foundation of America.  “

During the day, golfers took a shot at the “Celebrity Power Drive Competition” sponsored by Heineken Light and the “Beat the Pro Competition” sponsored by Knight Quality Sales.
At the Arbitron-sponsored dinner and awards ceremony, the featured live auction item bidding was spirited for the Carr Golf Trip to Ireland with the chance to play on four world-famous courses.

Additional sponsors included Arise Air, sponsor of the Hole-In-One Competition, BMI, Broadcasting & Cable, CAO International Cigars, Hearst Television, JL Media, Katz Media, and Triton Radio Networks.

The Broadcasters Foundation has provided millions of dollars in aid to hundreds of broadcasters who lost their livelihood through a catastrophic event, debilitating disease, or unforeseen family tragedy.  Individual membership is only $150 a year and can make a difference in the life of a colleague who has fallen on desperate times.  Donations also can be made as a personal gift to the Foundation and corporate contributions are accepted through the Angel Initiative.
