Townsquare Exec Added to NAB Radio Board

A Townsquare Media Senior VP is now on the NAB Radio Board.


At the same time, the President/CEO of Graham Media Group that ascended to the role with the retirement earlier this year of Emily Barr is joining the SVP and Head of Federal Government Affairs for NBCUniversal on the NAB Television Board of Directors.

Now on the NAB Radio Board is Kevin Godwin.

New to the NAB TV Board are Catherine Badalamente, of Graham Media Group, and Phil Tahtakran, for NBCUniversal.

The appointments were made by NAB TV Board Chair Perry Sook and NAB Radio Board Chair Bill Wilson, in accordance with NAB bylaws.

Before Barr’s retirement, Badalamente served as Graham’s VP and Chief Innovation Officer and VP of Digital Media. She is chair of the Board of Directors of the Local Media Association, serves as treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Local Media Foundation and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Women in Media.

Tahtakran leads NBCUniversal’s federal government affairs team and represents the company before Congress and the Administration on legislative priorities and other policy issues impacting the company. Tahtakran serves as NBCUniversal’s representative in various trade associations and coalitions focused on entertainment, broadcasting, telecom and travel policy issues. Additionally, Tahtakran is part of the senior NBCUniversal leadership team and senior legal team.

Before joining NBCUniversal in 2010, Tahtakran spent several years as a senior aide in congressional offices in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Godwin oversees operations, business development and performance for Townsquare Media’s West Region. He previously was SVP of Peak Broadcasting, which Townsquare Media acquired in November 2013. He previously worked for Citadel Communications between 1994 and 2007.
