HC2 Strikes Again With Bay Area Buy

If you’re wondering who the most prolific buyer of media properties may be today, the name Mike Novak would be a good guess. As the CEO of Educational Media Foundation (EMF), Novak has signed off on some major radio station acquisitions — including the recent additions of FMs in Chicago and Los Angeles.

But, it would be unwise to neglect to mention Philip Falcone, the head of HC2 Holdings. In the last year, the company agreed to purchase the Spanish-language Azteca América broadcast TV network while snagging low-power TV station after low-power TV station.

HC2 has now continued its big buying spree by adding a trio of LPTVs in the San Francisco Bay Area.
