Hispanic station WVXX wins web video award

A web video produced by the morning on-air team on La Selecta 1050 WVXX, the Spanish-language radio station in Norfolk-Virginia Beach, VA, has been honored in the 2010 international Videographer Awards. 


The video, “4:45 a.m, La Casa de La Gringa” (“4:45 a.m., The Home of The Gringa”) received an Award of Distinction in the competition’s web video category.  The video features morning host Ricardo Alegría and co-host La Gringa, who wrote and produced it. The Videographer Awards program annually recognizes excellence in all areas of video production.  This year, the competition received more than 1,800 entries from around the US and several other countries.

La Selecta 1050 WVXX broadcasts at 1050 AM, covering southeastern Virginia, the Eastern Shore, and northeastern North Carolina, and it streams live at www.Selecta1050.com.  On the air for six years, its format is contemporary Spanish and Latino music, along with news and informational programming.
