House debut for three from FCC

Three of the five FCC Commissioners have yet to get a good grilling from the members of the House of Representatives, but that will change today beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern. Check that – one of them was there not too long ago, but in a different capacity.

The event is the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet hearing titled, “Oversight of the Federal Communications Commission.”

If you are not employed at the commissioner level of the FCC, do not expect to see your name on the guest list, which does include:

The Honorable Julius Genachowski, Chairman, Federal Communications Commission

The Honorable Michael J. Copps, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission

The Honorable Robert M. McDowell, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission

The Honorable Mignon Clyburn, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission

The Honorable Meredith Attwell Baker, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission

It will be the first go-around in the House as FCC members, we believe, for Genachowski, Clyburn and Baker.
Baker, however, has been their before. She was the acting top exec at NTIA during almost all the time during which that agency was responsible for administering the DTV digital-to-analog converter box coupon program.
