As daylight arrived in Louisiana and Hurricane Laura made its way to the north into Arkansas, the full devastation of what the fierce Category 4 storm brought to the city of Lake Charles, La., started to come into full effect.

For its NBC affiliate serving the market, which “abandoned” its building on Wednesday, the damage is breathtaking.
At 1:25pm Central, listeners of a Cumulus Media station in Lake Charles — at least those with live streaming access — were told “the building’s gone.”
