Last night’s Thursday premiere of AMERICAN IDOL Season 12 delivered a 5.6/15, retaining 100% of last year’s preliminary Thursday premiere rating in Adults 18-49 (5.6/15 on 1/19/12) and 92% of its Total Viewers in the Fast Nationals. In fact, IDOL’s Thursday premiere out-rated The Voice’s Night Two premiere by +40% (5.6 vs 4.0) this season.
In addition, AMERICAN IDOL’s Thursday premiere grew +17% among Adults 18-34 from last year.
Last night’s AMERICAN IDOL Thursday premiere produced its strongest Night Two retention in four seasons with 93% retention in Adults 18-49 (AI 11 = 77%, AI 10 = 80%, AI 9 = 86%)
FOX won the night across all key demos and out-rated the next highest rated network (ABC) by +155% and tied the combined competitive 3-net rating for the night.
