Introducing Salem News Channel’s First Anchor

The first news anchor for the OTT-delivered Salem News Channel (SNC) television service from Salem Media Group is being welcomed across the conservative and Christian-themed broadcasting and publishing company.

She’s already hosting two-minute news capsules at the top of the hour and 90-second vignettes at the bottom of the hour, between 5pm and 10pm weekdays.

Haley Bianco is the first of “several anchors” joining the full-service “over the top” television network. She joins Salem after a stint at WICZ-40 in Binghamton, N.Y., the Southern Tier’s FOX affiliate owned by Cox Media Group and slated for transfer of control to Imagicomm Communications.

At WICZ, Bianco served as Managing Editor and prime-time anchor. She is previously the host and producer of “PA live!”, airing on Nexstar-owned NBC affiliate WBRE-28 in Wilkes Barre-Scranton.

“I am excited to be able to deliver news every day on SNC from the New York City studios,” Haley said. “We promise to provide a credible news product, which will augment the great talk shows already seen on SNC.”

Haley will be providing news capsules in programs hosted by Andrew Wilkow, Brandon Tatum, Dinesh D’Souza, and Eric Metaxas.

Longtime Talk Radio programmer Phil Boyce, who serves as SVP of Spoken Word at Salem, says Bianco “brings a wealth of TV news experience to SNC, and will give us the news credibility we are looking for as we continue to grow and expand our emerging TV network.”
