In a major move for the company that owns such broadcast television stations as flagship ABC affiliate WCPO-9 in Cincinnati and has invested heavily in digital multicast networks through its purchase of Ion Media Networks nearly two years ago, The E.W. Scripps Co. on Thursday confirmed the launch of a new division to be named Scripps Sports.
Chosen to lead the new division is the individual who has led the Local Media arm of Scripps for 13 years.
