Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘The Marriage Ref’ wins its slot after Olympics

The lead in was the finale of the Olympics and from 10:30-11 p.m., a preview of “The Marriage Ref” averaged a 4.8/13 in 18-49 and 14.5 million viewers overall in fast affiliate-based ratings. 


“The Marriage Ref” dominated its time period, topping the combined ABC-CBS competition in adults 18-49 (4.8 vs. 4.7, pending updates), as well as adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos. 

“The Marriage Ref” won the time period in all key ratings categories.

“The Marriage Ref” retained 91 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from the prior half-hour of Olympic coverage (4.8 vs. 5.3 in fast affiliate-based ratings).

Versus NBC’s non-sports average in the time period during the traditional 2008-09 season, last night’s telecast of “The Marriage Ref” was up 50 percent in 18-49 (4.8 vs. 3.2, “live plus same day”) and 66 percent in total viewers (14.476 million vs. 8.744 million).
