Since July 2020 he has served as President/GM of WGAL-8, the NBC affiliate serving the Lancaster-Harrisburg-Lebanon-York, Pa., market owned by Hearst Television.

Now, he’s likely singing the lyrics to a classic rock and roll tune by Wilbert Harrison as Sarah Smith readies for retirement.

Justin Antoniotti has been named President/GM of KMBC-9 and KCWE-29, Hearst’s ABC and CW affiliates, respectively, serving the Kansas City television market.

Antoniotti takes his new role on January 1 and succeeds the retiring Smith.

The move is a return to the Show-Me State for Antoniotti, an honors graduate from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. It also marks the continuation of a family legacy; Antoniotti’s father, Steve Antoniotti, also had an extensive career in TV news and, later, general management.

“Justin has achieved terrific success in each of his roles with Hearst Television,” said Hearst Television President Jordan Wertlieb. “Having managed at a variety of television stations, including some of the company’s heritage properties, he has a keen understanding of the impact Hearst stations have in the communities they serve. This, coupled with his experience running our duopoly in Burlington-Plattsburgh, including launching the market’s first full power CW station, makes him the ideal executive to lead KMBC and KCWE.”

Antoniotti joined WGAL on July 1, 2020. Before that, he was President/GM of WPTZ-5 & WNNE-31, the NBC and CW Network affiliates serving Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Burlington, Vt. Before that, Anotoniotti spent four years as News Director at WTAE-4 in Pittsburgh, an ABC affiliate.
