Kara Manning has joined the team behind WFUV-FM NY’s The Alternate Side as Web Editor, Writer and On-Air Interviewer. Formerly a reporter for MTV News and a staff writer for Rolling Stone magazine, Kara is putting her access to many music industry sources to good use on TheAlternateSide.org blog, offering news, videos and scoops on bands like White Rabbits, Glasvegas and Radiohead.
A companion to WFUV’s AAA/Indie flagship programming, The Alternate Side provides NYC’s burgeoning indie music scene with a full-time local radio outlet available at TheAlternateSide.org and on HD Radio at 90.7 FM HD-3 in the New York City area. Major funding for the service was provided, in part, by The New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
