'Kitchen Nightmares' and 'Fringe' bring win to FOX Friday

 With the season premiere of KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (1.9/6) and the Friday time period debut of FRINGE (1.9/6), FOX achieved its highest-rated Friday night with entertainment programming in almost two and a half years (since 9/5/08).
 
KITCHEN NIGHTMARES and FRINGE tied as the highest-rated programs of the night among Adults 18-49 and gave FOX the nightly win among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens, Adults 25-54 and virtually all key demos. 
 
In fact, KITCHEN NIGHTMARES and FRINGE combined to outperform FOX’s Friday night prior season average by +111% among Adults 18-49 (1.9/6 vs. 0.9/3). 
 
FRINGE
At 9p the time period premiere of FRINGE on Friday matched its prior Thursday season average among Adults 18-49 (1.9) and grew +12% over its most recent telecast on Thursday, 12/9/10 (vs. 1.7/5).  In addition, FRINGE won the 9p hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34.
 
KITCHEN NIGHTMARES
The season premiere of KITCHEN NIGHTMARES at 8p outperformed last year’s premiere by +36% among Adults 18-49 (vs. 1.4/4 on 1/29/10).  KITCHEN NIGHTMARES won its 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.
 
Competition
 
On ABC, Supernanny (1.1/4) was flat with its last telecast while  Primetime: What Would You Do (1.7/5) was up +13% from last week. At 10pm, 20/20 (1.5/5) was up +7%.
 
CBS’ Medium series finale posted a 1.6/5, up +23% from its last telecast but only slightly above its average. CBS aired repeats of CSI: NY at 9p (1.1/4) and 10p (1.1/4).
 
A repeat Minute To Win It (1.2/4) on NBC was followed by Dateline (1.4/4), down -7% from last week.
