A 30+-year media and TV executive who began his career in August 1986 as a media buyer and planner for Chicago-based Leo Burnett has just been appointed President/GM of one of TEGNA‘s top CBS affiliates in the South.
Marty Schack, most recently Director of Sales at CBS-affiliated KENS-5 in San Antonio for TEGNA, is now leading KTHV-11 in Little Rock.
Schack had been with KENS since August 2014. Before that, he held a similar role at Meredith Corp.-owned KMOV-4 in St. Louis.
The “THV11″ team already know Schack. For a brief time in 2017 he served as the station’s Interim General Manager.
“It was an easy decision to return to the family that made me feel at home,” said Schack, who has also held sales positions for Weigel Broadcasting’s WDJT-58 in Milwaukee and was LSM for WBBM-2 in Chicago from 1996-2001. “It’s often said that people make the difference and if that’s the case, I have chosen wisely. My wife, Julie, and I were overwhelmed by the friendly community in Little Rock and look forward to contributing to the city’s continued growth and prosperity.”
He’ll begin his role at THV11 later this month.
