KVIL gets new PD

Jay Michaels will join Hot AC 103.7 KVIL as program director effective immediately. He will report to Brian Purdy, SVP and Market Manager for CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth.

“KVIL is on a new, strategic path,” Purdy said, “and we’re entrusting Jay with these iconic call letters. I’m confident that he will build upon the foundation which has been laid by Ron Harrell (CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth vice president of music programming), who can now focus exclusively on KLUV and Jack FM.  We couldn’t ask for a stronger team to guide our music stations in Dallas-Fort Worth.”

Michaels was most recently program director for KDMX-FM and KDGE-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth. Prior to that, he was operations director for WROX-FM and WUSH-FM in Norfolk. He has also worked in Los Angeles (KYSR-FM), Houston (KRBE-FM) and Austin, Texas (KHFI-FM and KDHT-FM).

  1. I rarely listen to KVIL. I used to listen but they changed too much. I am glad that I can stream Internet audio.
