Master Choice: A News/Talk Vet and R&R Alum

AGOURA HILLS, CALIF. — Since 2003, Mr. Master has gained the attention of the radio industry for products that provide technology workflow optimization.

Its 16-year-old MediaShooterPro is used by upward of 8,500 radio stations. Then, there is Mr. Master’s six-year-old Automation Import Manager (AIM) software, which optimizes a station’s workflow by automating the processing of network commercial inventory and supplying compliance data to networks.

Helping Mr. Master grow its AIM and MediaShooterPro client base is the now-former Senior Vice President/Affiliate Services for iHeartMedia’s Total Traffic Network — a News/Talk radio management veteran who also served as an Executive Editor for Radio & Records.

Taking the role of Executive Director of Affiliate Sales is Roger Nadel.

He’ll be responsible for “enhancing the affiliation strategy” for AIM software and servicing its 3,500 affiliates.

Nadel’s hire comes as Maria Laing is promoted to SVP at the Conejo Valley-based company some 45 minutes northwest of Los Angeles’ Westside.

Both report to Mr. Master President Stu Jacobs.

Jacobs said of Nadel, “He is an advocate for radio, with a successful track record of helping stations monetize their inventory and maximize resources, which perfectly aligns with who we are and our business objectives.”

Nadel spent 11 years and 8 months at TTWN, and exited in August.

His long career in radio includes roles as VP/GM of the former Sporting News Radio-affiliated KMPC-AM in Los Angeles, and as VP/GM at CBS Radio from April 1992-September 2003. He came to CBS, however, in 1982 — as Asst. Director of News and Programming for KNX-AM 1070 in L.A.

From 2004-2005, he was a key member of the R&R editorial team.

“I’m a big believer in using the right tool for the right job,” said Nadel. “In an environment where staff sizes are shrinking and workloads are increasing, Mr. Master’s AIM software offers a toolkit that solves problems, creates efficiencies and increases revenue for broadcasters. This opportunity was a no brainer for me.”
