On the evening of November 15, 2020, outdoors enthusiast turned radio station owner Jamie McKibbin died in a boating accident near Tippecanoe, Ohio.

Now, the properties associated with his McKibbin Media Group are being transferred from his estate to his widow.

McKibbin’s tragic death came without Jamie McKibbin having executed a Last Will & Testament. As such, in April 2021 the McKibbin Media Group properties were transferred to an estate led by Jamie’s wife, Katina McKibbin.

Now, Katina is to receive full official ownership of the properties, comprised of Class A WCSR-FM 92.1 and Class C WCSR-AM 1340/FM translator W258DE at 99.5 MHz in Hillsdale, Mich.; Class B News/Talk WKHM-AM 970 and FM translator W268CA at 101.5 MHz in Jackson, Mich.; Class A Hot AC WKHM-FM 105.3 in Brooklyn, Mich.; Class C Country WIBM-AM 1450 and FM translator W240DG at 95.9 in Jackson; and W270CJ at 101.9 MHz in Jackson.

McKibbin in December 2019 acquired the Jackson and Brooklyn properties from Jackson Radio Works for $3.8 million. The Hillsdale stations were purchased from Michael Flynn for $575,000.

Commission approval is expected for the assets to be transferred to Katina McKibbin.
