Media One, Dunkin’ Donuts hold “First Responders Salute”

In wake of recent national events and tragedies, the five radio stations of Media One Group in Jamestowen, NY have recognized all first responders in the area. WWSE, WJTN, WHUG, WKSN and WQFX teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts to honor local area first responders with daily messages, salutes and some gifts as well.

The “First Responder Salute” has been heard across the Media One Group radio stations since early May and will continue through June.  Departments randomly selected include: Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Police Department, Lakewood Fire Department, Lakewood-Busti Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, Ashville Fire Department, Busti Fire Department, Frewsburg Fire Department, Gerry Fire Department, Mayville Fire Department.

Says Media One Group VP/GM, Jeff Storey: “We can’t thank these people enough for the good things they do to keep our community safe each day. We thought it would be nice to recognize them publically and donate some treats from our partners at Dunkin’ Donuts as small token of our appreciation.”

Andrew Hill, Media One Group’s Director of Operations and Programming adds, “We literally put the names of area public safety departments into a hat and randomly pulled out ten to receive Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee, Donuts and Gift Cards to be used at the chief’s discretion. We are unable to recognize and gift everyone, but would like to take this opportunity to sincerely express our gratitude to all of our area first responders on behalf of everyone in the broadcast and print journalism communities.”
