Lincoln Financial Media’s ‘790 the Ticket’ (WAXY-AM) announced three additions to its on-air roster. “The Sports Brothers” have signed a new deal to host the Monday-Friday 1-3 p.m. slot, while South Florida radio icon TRN’s Phil Hendrie will anchor overnights 1 to 4 a.m. In addition, The Ticket will air ESPN’s SportsCenter every morning from 5 to 6 a.m. The Sports Brothers – Ed Freeman and Jeff Fox – live in Miami and grew up as huge fans of Miami sports franchises. Freeman is a native of north Miami while Fox hails from the Bahamas. But both tuned into Miami teams on the radio. Hendrie once hosted one of the top rated shows in Miami history before making his way to LA.

“We’re very excited to have Miami guys who root for Miami teams,” said Marc Hochman, PD of 790 the Ticket. “They’ve actually been doing the 1-3 p.m. show for several weeks now and the audience response has been phenomenal.”

790 the Ticket is currently home to the Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz, which airs 3-7 p.m. weekdays. It has become the highest-rated sports talk show in the history of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market, according to the most recent Arbitron ratings.
