Back To School Boost From A Big Retailer

School is now in session across all of the U.S., and one big department store chain opted to step up its ad activity at radio — rather than pull back following the Labor Day holiday.

Meanwhile, it’s job-search season, Indeed.

That’s the popular online job search hub, and it is the No. 4 brand using radio for the week ending Sept. 16, according to iHeartMedia-owned Media Monitors.

The year’s top advertisers, GEICO and The Home Depot, stay at No. 2 and No. 3 (iHeartRadio Music Festival spots, while No. 1, are largely heard on iHeart stations and are therefore not counted by RBR+TVBR).

While Indeed returns to the Spot Ten with more than 38,000 spot plays, ZipRecruiter isn’t about to let a competitor be alone in its efforts to get job seekers.

ZipRecruiter is now No. 9, with nearly 23,000 spot plays.

Those seeking a job may be wooed by JCPenney to shop for the perfect interview outfit.

The retailer returns to the Spot Ten by placing at No. 6 — and it is the lone clothier or department store chain to be present on the latest Spot Ten report.
