Since 1969, the marketing slogan “Virginia Is For Lovers” has wooed tourists and business investors from around the world. Among the individuals lured to the Old Dominion, both for its beauty and for its revenue-producing opportunities, is a person best known as a top media broker.

This is the story of Monticello Media, a company born roughly a decade ago on the back porch of the North Florida home of George Reed, and a phone call to the former CEO of a broadcasting company he brought out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in fall 2011. Today, Monticello Media is successful, proud to serve Nielsen Audio market No. 207, and an endeavor of love for the man overseeing it all.
