The Bonneville St. Louis Radio Group announced that beginning 1/1 it will change the format of WMVN (101.1 FM) from its current upbeat “Movin’” music programming to a Sports Talk format. The new 101.1 FM Sports Talk will include the best and most well-known local on-air talent, as well as ESPN Radio affiliation.
“Our parent company, Bonneville International,” said Bonneville St. Louis VP and Market Manager John Kijowski, “invested millions of dollars in June of 2008 to increase our signal to a full 100,000 watts, making it one of the strongest FM signals in our market. By moving to a Sports Talk format on 101.1 FM, we’re confident we now can maximize sports programming to its full potential in our city.
“We believe the combination of a superior FM signal, the strongest local talent, and future play-by-play,” he continued, “will bring huge success for our listeners, our clients, and our employees.”
