The latest entrant into the Hispanic television market is MundoFOX, and it has expanded its reach with agreements that will put it into Boston, Philadelphia, Tampa-St. Petersburg and Phoenix.
Minority-owned television group Prime Time Partners is picking up three of the affiliations, using its stations WFXZ Channel 24 Boston, WPSJ Channel 8
Philadelphia & WSPF Channel 35 Tampa.
“MundoFOX original programming will offer our audience in Boston, Philadelphia and Tampa with a new direction in Spanish-Language entertainment, all in high-definition, through our free over-the-air signal,” said Jose Rodriguez, CEO & President of Prime Time Partners.
Hero Broadcasting LLC, owner & operator of local Phoenix television station KMOH 6/KEJR 40, will be the Phoenix enrollee.
“MundoFOX’s original programming will challenge Univision and Telemundo because it provides a quality alternative to the cookie-cutter entertainment landscape that has become a fixture in Spanish-language television,” said Robert Behar, a pioneer of U.S. Spanish-language television and President and CEO of Hero Broadcasting LLC.”
