The FCC had top 50 market broadcast television stations lead off when it comes to online public files. The NAB agrees with the FCC that it is time for cable and satellite companies to follow suit.
On the radio side, it also backs provision that would exempt NCE stations and commercial stations with fewer than five full time employees from the online filing requirement.
It agrees that when it’s time for radio to start, adequate time must be allowed for stations to prepare for it, and to stagger the deadline for posting so not all stations are attempting to do it at once and thereby overwhelming the FCC’s servers.
As for filing contour maps, it suggested relief for AM stations to keep their burden equal to that of FM stations.
