NAB files comments on auction repacking, translators


NAB / National Association of BroadcastersHere are comments NAB filed with the FCC regarding the methodology used to calculate TV station coverage areas following the broadcast spectrum incentive auction. The FCC has said it is updating the TVStudy software, not its OET-69 methodology. NAB disagrees and has provided studies that show that even if only the software is changed, TVStudy is producing flawed results that could cause harm to some 1,009 stations out of 2,232 in its study. NAB also filed, requesting the Commission ensure translators are protected during the reallocation of TV channels following the auction:
