NBC has reached an out-of-court settlement with a woman who had sued the network over her brother’s suicide. William Conradt Jr., an assistant district attorney in Rockland County, TX,  shot himself in November 2006 as his home was surrounded by a local police SWAT team, accompanied by a crew from “Dateline NBC: To Catch a Predator.” Patricia Conradt had sued NBC for $109 million, claiming that the TV crew “steamrollered” local authorities into making the arrest when her brother failed to show up for a sting operation that was trying to snare online sexual predators seeking child victims. Local authorities had denied that their actions were the result of any pressure. Terms of the settlement remain secret. Both sides issued statement saying “the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.”
