NBC Sports Radio tops 400 affiliates

NBC Sports RadioNBC Sports Radio, a JV between WestwoodOne and NBC Sports Group, is celebrating a major milestone as the network announces it has passed the 400 station mark.


“We are very proud of the tremendous growth the NBC Sports Radio Network has experienced since inception,” said Charles Steinhauer, WestwoodOne’s COO.  “Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our top-rate talent, producers, and affiliate sales team we are able to continue to extend the reach of this outstanding sports talk content for our listeners and advertisers.”

Rob Simmelkjaer, Senior Vice President, NBC Sports Ventures, said “Reaching this important milestone is the result of the hard work of our partners at Westwood One and Cumulus, and, of course, our great talent lineup.”

Among the newest stations added to NBC Sports Radio’s roster are Tribune’s WGWG-FM, Chicago; Cumulus Media’s KTCT-AM, San Francisco; Entercom’s WEEI-FM, Boston; Grand Slam Sports’ KFNS-AM, St. Louis; and Cumulus Media’s WISW-AM, Columbia, SC.

The network features sports talk personalities, expert analysts, former players and coaches, and special contributors, including:

•        Hosts: Erik Kuselias, Brian Kenny, Newy Scruggs, Donovan McNabb, Mark Malone, Amani Toomer, Eytan Shander, Jon Stashower, Dan Schwartzman, Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, and more.

•        NFL: Donovan McNabb, Mark Malone,  Amani Toomer, Rodney Harrison, and Terrell Davis

•        MLB: Chipper Jones

•        NBA: Stan Van Gundy

NBC Sports Radio launched in September, 2012, with its full 24/7 rollout on April 1, 2013.
