WOAM-AM in Peoria IL is getting a new set of owners. Kelly Communications is selling the station to Nelson Broadcasting Inc. in a cash deal. It will be Nelson’s only station in the market.
James C. McCrudden signed off on the deal for the seller, which stands to make $100K at closing.
Nelson is headed by Larry Nelson, Pamela Nelson, Jennifer Beckman, Douglas Nelson and others. Between them, they have interests in stations in other parts of Illinois, as well as in Wisconsin, Arizona and New Mexico.
Larry and Pamela are also officers and directors of noncommercial licensee American Education Foundation Inc.
The Class B facility plies the airwaves at the 1350 kHz dial position, with 1,000 Watts day and night with separate directional antennae in use during each time period.
