After the previous satellite launch for Dish Network went awry (3/18/08 TVBR #54), a lot was riding on last night’s launch of EchoStar XI by Sea Launch. The new satellite is needed for Dish to expand its capacity to deliver HD channels to customers.
The launch from the Odyssey launch platform in the Pacific Ocean was scheduled for 10:21 pm PT last night, well after TVBR’s bed time. Check TVBR.com for any update on the success or failure of the latest launch.
