Meet Nexstar’s New Leader In North Dakota

The Director of Sales for Nexstar Media Group‘s central and western North Dakota TV and digital operations has been promoted to VP/GM of three CBS affiliates and an affiliate of The CW serving a four-city DMA in the state ranked No. 146.

Getting the bump up in responsibilities is Tammy Blumhagen.

She will now oversee as VP/GM CBS stations KXMB-TV in Minot, KXMC-TV in Bismarck, and KXMD-TV in Dickinson and The CW’s KXMD-TV in Williston, N.D. The four cities comprise one DMA.

Blumhagen, who reports to Nexstar SVP/Regional Manager Julie Pruett, is a North Dakota native with more than 17 years of broadcast industry experience. She came on board at Nexstar following its early 2016 of the stations from Reiten Television. There, she served as Corporate Sales Manager for Reiten, responsible for developing revenue-generating strategies for the stations’ local programming and leading all aspects of sales across its local, national and digital advertising verticals.

Prior to that, she served as Owner and Principal Consultant for Blueprint Media, where she provided strategic direction, branding, media planning and creative concept development services to local businesses. Earlier in her career, Ms. Blumhagen served as a Local Sales Manager for Reiten. She began her broadcast career in 1999 as an Account Executive for Forum Communications.
