For nine years, she was responsible for the full scope of marketing, including Global Brand Strategy and Management, Product Marketing, Media, Research and Analytics, Meetings, Events and Sponsorships and Reputation, at a brand that had its reputation tarnished during her tenure as Chief Marketing Officer.

Now, this CMO pro has been selected to run the integrated global function for the Nielsen Global Media business.

As of today, Jamie Moldafsky has joined Nielsen Holdings plc to serve as Chief Marketing and Communications for the Nielsen Global Media unit.

In this position, Moldafsky will run the Integrated Global function for Nielsen Global Media.

The appointment of Moldafsky comes as the sale of Nielsen Connect, its consumer research arm, to Advent International is on track for a Q2 2021 closing.

“I’m excited to join Nielsen at such a transformative time in the industry,” Moldafsky said. “I look forward to leveraging my past experiences and relationships to help Nielsen achieve
its ambitious goals and vision.”

Moldafsky’s tenure at Wells Fargo was filled with numerous achievements, as the financial institution gained notice for its marketing efforts toward Asian-American and Hispanic consumers. However, her time at Wells Fargo encompasses an account fraud scandal that led to a marketing pause and reset in an attempt to reassure its customer base that Wells Fargo was still a trusted brand. CEO John Stumpf resigned.

Fast-forward to June 2020, with Wells Fargo issuing an internal memo obtained by Business Insider that disclosed Moldafsky would be transitioning out of her position. That transpired on Sept. 13, with former Ketchum CEO Barri Rafferty taking expanded duties as head of communications, and not just serving in a marketing role.

For Nielsen CEO David Kenny, Moldafsky’s arrival brings the company “a seasoned marketing and communications professional with experience in a range of industries, and invaluable expertise in marketing and communications.” He added, “Jamie’s ability to apply best in class marketing solutions, engage in thought leadership and deploy successful strategies for reputation management will help us accelerate our partnerships with the industry and turbocharge the next era of Nielsen’s business.”

Before joining Wells Fargo in 2005, Moldafsky held a series of senior marketing, communications and management roles at American Express, Charles Schwab and Whirlpool Corp., where she was GM of KitchenAid.
