The Nielsen Company announced plans for its Nielsen Finance subsidiaries to make a private placement of $300 million in senior notes due 2014. The company said it plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes. One of those purposes may be retirement of a portion of an outstanding issue of notes totaling 250 British pounds.
