Noncom donates Hawaii FM

giftKMNO-FM Wailuku HI is headed to a new owner. The noncommercial outlet has been donated free of charge “with pleasure.”


The station service the island of Maui.

The donor is Mana O’Radio. Station Manager Kathy Collins signed off on the deal.

Taking over the station will be Maui Media Initiative Inc., headed by Board President Alan Sheps.

KMNO-FM is a Class C1 on 91.7 MHz with 1.2 kW @ 3,068’.

The donor stated, “It is with pleasure that I inform you of the Mana’o Radio Board of Directors’ unanimous decision to transfer the KMNO-FM license to Maui Media Initiative, for no monetary consideration. Mana’o Radio will also donate, at no charge, all broadcast and/or internet streaming equipment owned by Mana’o Radio, including its music library, CD players, turntables, microphones, computers, and all transmission equipment.”
