Oscar takes a tumble

The writers are back, but that doesn’t mean that the viewers have to watch. ABC’s broadcast of the “80th Annual Academy Awards” on Sunday dropped 25% in Household ratings from a year ago and 30% in the key 18-49 demo. That made it the least-watched Oscars broadcast ever, with only 32 million viewers, coming in under the previous low of 33 million set in 2003. ABC did win the night Sunday, with Fox in second place.
