Poll shows most expect to benefit from DTV

A poll commissioned by Harris Broadcast Communications found that people aren’t simply adopting DTV technology because they have to. Almost seven out of 10 believe the switch will be good for them and their families. The poll, conducted by Greenfield Online, found that 69% expected good things from DTV. More surprisingly, it found that 55% quite possibly would buy an antenna to get DTV off air and cancel a pricy MVPD subscription.

RBR/TVBR observation: That second number sure looks high to us – we don’t know if it’s a fluke or the wishful thinking of a company that wants to sell some antennae, but it’s hard to imagine 1/20th of all MVPD subscribers cutting off their service, let alone over half of them
