Radio group launches print publication

The Des Moines Radio Group of Saga Communications apparently doesn’t believe that print is dead. It is launching a new four-color glossy magazine, “!ntuition,” aimed at Women in Central Iowa.

“We know from our experience with female listeners in Des Moines, that women are hungry for smart, funny and intelligent conversation. !ntuition offers exactly that. But this is also a business decision. Our advertisers are looking to branch out and use more than just a 60-second commercial to reach women, this is a unique way to combine the two,” said Des Moines Radio Group (DMRG) General Manager Jeff Delvaux,

The magazine will roll off the presses six times per year and be distributed free at more than 300 locations in Central Iowa.

The new addition to the DMRG arsenal is lead by Kari Elbert, Director of Publications, who brings 12 years of experience in the publishing business to the team.

!ntuition’s official launch was set for Saturday, January 16th in a “Snow Party” at the Des Moines Botanical Center. Plans were to follow outdoor activities, such as a scavenger hunt and building a giant snowman, with cookies, cocoa and a s’mores bar inside. Attendees were also invited to pick up a copy of the first issue.
