Rick Dees to return to LA on KHHT-FM

“Rick Dees in the Morning” will be back in Los Angeles beginning 5/4 on CC Radio’s Rhythmic AC KHHT-FM (Hot 92.3). Dees has been an icon in the City of Angels after his debut in 1981 on KIIS-FM, where he was a market leader for more than two decades. He was last doing mornings in LA up to 4/15/09, when Emmis’ Movin 93.9 changed to Spanish Contemporary. The show returns with features like Candid Phone, Dees Sleaze and Joke of the Day. It also gets a naming rights partner, Valley View Casino & Hotel.

The move doesn’t affect his Westwood One-syndicated countdown show, “The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40.”

Said Dees: “I am proud to be welcomed back into the number one radio market in the world, playing some of the best music ever recorded and especially getting the opportunity to reunite with a long list of Clear Channel friends.”

To celebrate his return, Dees will be throwing out the first pitch for the Dodgers/Cubs game at Dodger Stadium at 12:10pm after his debut show.  In keeping with the old school theme, the day will feature Dodgers players in throwback jerseys and rolled back concession prices.
