With its shares under $3, there’s been some negative sentiment among investors regarding Salem Media Group, the Camarillo, Calif.-based owner of conservative talk and Christian-themed radio stations.
Yet, Salem topped Q3 earnings estimates, swinging to net income from a net loss as political dollars hit new highs.
Salem hopes to build on that momentum with the launch on Tuesday (11/27) of a multimedia ad agency inclusive of “a comprehensive suite of digital marketing services to develop and execute audience-based marketing strategies for clients on both the local and national levels.”
Taking the name Salem Surround, the ad agency will have locations in 35 markets across the U.S. The digital marketing services will be paired with the selling of audio and digital advertising across Salem’s 116 radio stations and websites.
“From our beginning as just a few local radio stations to the nationwide multi-platform media company we are today, Salem has worked hard to stay in tune with our listeners, readers, clients, and partners to meet their growing needs,” said Salem CEO Edward Atsinger III. “Salem Surround is yet another way for us to serve with excellence nationwide, and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Salem VP of Digital Marketing Jamie Cohen added, “With consumers spending more and more time on smart phones and tablets, the media landscape has become significantly more complicated for business owners and marketers to navigate. The one-size-fits-all marketing approach of just a decade ago has quickly become outdated. Combining the power of Salem Radio with a full-service digital advertising strategy will allow us to go above and beyond in meeting the needs of advertisers around the country.”
Also chiming in is Salem’s President of Broadcast Media, David Santrella.
“Every member of our sales team is now a Media Strategist able to provide integrated marketing strategies to advertisers across the country,” he said. “This is an exciting time for Salem to bring our clients next-level service. Our team’s decades of experience in the marketing and broadcast industries married with the latest tactics in digital marketing has resulted in a best-of-all-worlds approach to reaching and connecting with consumers.”
