SENATOR EVAN BAYH OF INDIANA TALKS EXCLUSIVELY TO THE HOSTS OF “THE VIEW” IN HIS FIRST AND ONLY NETWORK TELEVISION APPEARANCE SINCE ANNOUNCING HE WON’T RUN FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2010, LIVE, FEB. 22 ON ABC
Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana will make his first-ever appearance on ABC’s “The View,” live, MONDAY, FEB. 22 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), where he’ll talk exclusively to Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd during his first and only network television appearance since announcing Monday his decision to not run for re-election for a third senate term in 2010.
“After all these years, my passion for service to my fellow citizens is undiminished, but my desire to do so by serving in Congress has waned. For some time, I have had a growing conviction that Congress is not operating as it should. There is too much partisanship and not enough progress — too much narrow ideology and not enough practical problem-solving. Even at a time of enormous challenge, the peoples’ business is not being done,” said Sen. Bayh.
Mr. Bayh is a two-term Indiana governor and United States Senator. During the 2008 presidential primary election he was seriously being considered by the Democratic party to be a strong contender for President of the United States.
