Earlier this year, a “Bigfoot” was spotted across Scranton and Wilkes Barre, as Seven Mountains Media grew its Country radio brand across Northeastern Pennsylvania’s biggest burghs.
Now, WARM-AM and WLGD-FM 107.7 are officially getting a sibling, thanks to a deal with an individual whose also worked with them in the Twin Tiers region.
Seven Mountains is agreeing to purchase W269CF at 101.7 MHz in Scranton from Kevin Fitzgerald.
It is paying $150,000 for the property, which has all but 57 watts but its peak tower position allows the facility to cover all of Scranton.
A 10% escrow deposit is being held by the seller.
At closing, the remainder will be paid in cash. However, 10% of the total price will be applied to Fitzgerald’s NYX Communications, his engineering and consulting company.
Already, W269CF is simulcasting WLGD and its “Bigfoot Legends” Classic Country format. It also airs on WARM-AM.
