A disappointing December retail sales report from the US Commerce Department put a damper on Wall Street, but the day ended slightly higher on news of successful government bond sales in Europe. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 22 points, or 0.2%, to 12,471. Broadcasting stocks were mixed.
The RBR Radio Index was down 2.510, or 0.8%, to 326.334.
The TVBR Television Index was up 0.250, or 0.1%, to 239.886.
