Disappointing news about home sales didn’t stop the stock market from posting modest gains on Monday, perhaps because more senators indicated that they would support Ben Bernanke’s confirmation for another term as head of the Fed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 24 points, or 0.2%, to 10,197. Broadcasting stocks also had an up day, following last week’s US Supreme Court decision that removed some restrictions on political advertising.
The RBR Radio Index was up 2.171, or 1%, to 211.433.
The TVBR Television Index was up 3.815, or 2.7%, to 144.646.
